GPE sets the pace
GPE was the first company in Japan to achieve the practical application of
continuous coining processing technology. For this purpose, we employed a
high-speed feed system that enables high-precision integrated processing by
metal-press machines. Continuous coining processing, as its name indicates,
was originally developed for the production of coins. In conventional
coining processing, sheet metal is automatically fed into a die, pressed
and
punched. Continuous coining processing does far more: it includes bending,
pulling and drilling in addition to the conventional coining processing,
and
moreover, allows all these types of processing to be executed continuously.
The practical application of continuous coining processing is an eloquent
expression of GPE’s sophisticated in-house expertise. The critical
technologies are those for die design, enabling execution of multiple types
of processing with a single press machine, and for feed press processing,
which assures excellent productivity and quality. In combination, these
technologies realize a press processing system characterized by outstanding
precision, quality and productivity. Our quality control department
developed unique miss-feed detection equipment, for which a patent
application has been filed, and a computerized inspection system to ensure
the high reliability of products.

With a view to expanding the application field of GPE’s continuous coining
processing technology, we are making a concerted effort to accumulate
know-how and refine the technology. We are targeting applications of this
technology to LSI and ULSI packages and to filters used in optical
communications and mobile communications. We are convinced that our
fine-processing technology has a bright future in these cutting-edge
fields.
